Clear River Optics is the result of many years of experience working within the low tolerance lens and optics industry. It all started in 1997 working as a machine operator at The United Lens Company in Southbridge, MA.
Grinding and polishing precision flat optics was a hands on learning experience about the quality and care needed for performance optics.
A few years later working as a repair technician for Karl Storz Endoscopy, I developed a skill for cleaning, aligning and repair of optical systems.
This lead to a lead position with a large optical filter manufacturer, formerly known as Thermo Corion.
Here all my glass skills were used from grind & polish all the way to packaging of high-end optical filters.
In the summer of 2002 a life change was in order. I realized a passion for the mountains and that it was a reachable goal to move to Vermont.
After a few interesting jobs I was hired on with Vermont Optechs, Inc, a seller of high-end used research microscopes.
A basic microscope repair and an advanced microscope repair course were successfully taken with Rocky Mountain Microscope Institute and a career was born.
After schooling and hands on repair side by side with Munday Scientific Instruments, a great deal of knowledge and service skills were passed on.
Now, 7 years later Clear River Optics is spreading it's customer base and enjoying a life in the mountains of Vermont.
